From insurance coverage to pickup details, everything is designed with simplicity and transparency in mind.
Minimum rental age is 23 years on last birthday with at least 2years experience on a full driving license.
The maximum rental age is 75 years.
The drivers must hold a valid driver’s license issued in the European Union, USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia(in English language).
Drivers from outside of the European Union and the countries not mentioned above require an International driver’s license.
Full payment to be made when you collect the vehicle either by Cash, Visa or Master card.
All the cars are not allowed on unpaved/dirt track(non-asphalt) roads.
If any damage is caused to the car due to it has been driven on to an unpaved/dirt track(non-asphalt) road, the customer will be liable for the repair of any damage found on the undercarriage, wheels and tyres of the vehicle.
It is the responsibility of the renter to check the condition of the vehicle and to ensure that any existing damage is recorded on the Rental Agreement when taking delivery of the vehicle. Any damages not recorded on the Rental Agreement and found when the vehicle is returned will become the responsibility of the renter.
Unless otherwise stated on the Rental Agreement the vehicle is to be returned to the rental place from which it was taken.In the event that the vehicle is returned late there is a charge of 5 euros per hour, for every hour over the recorded time on the Rental Agreement.
The duration of your rental starts and finishes according to the pick-up and drop-off dates and times detailed on your contract, the price of which will be confirmed at time of booking and is calculated on the basis of 24-hour units. Unfortunately, there is no refund for vehicles, in case of late pick-up, early return or unused days.
The vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as recorded on the Rental Agreement. Extra fuel left in the tank is not refundable
Traffic Violations – Fines: All fines from illegal parking and violations of the traffic code that may occur during the rental period, are the renters’ responsibility.
Travel on ferry boats to other islands is strictly forbidden. With only exemption Ithaca Island.
The renter must have a written authorization to transfer the car outside of kefalonia.
Return / drop off location of rental car can only be on KEFALONIA.
In case of accident or technical problem following conditions apply: AutoGemKefalonia will take care of the returning of the car to Kefalonia, but cannot offer a replacement of any other vehicle on Ithaca. In any case it is the renter’s responsibility to return to Kefalonia on his own costs to receive a replacement vehicle.
- Inform AutoGemKefalonia immediately.
- Do not acknowledge responsibility in anyway.
- Report the accident to the police and make an accident report.
- Collect the names, addresses and phone numbers of any involved parties and any witnesses.
- Do not remove the car unless officially asked by the traffic police or the representative of the insurance company to do so.
- No hidden costs.
- No credit card fees.
- Free baby-booster seats that are placed by the customer.
- Free additional driver, must be present at the start of the car rental.
Car rental insurance includes:
Collision Damage Waiver – Theft Protection – Personal Accident Insurance and Third-party liability for death, injury, and material damages up to 1.300.000 euros. breakdown cover in Kefalonia, all taxes & VAT

Included in the price of the rental and carries an excess liability amount of €600 for all car groups, excluding VAT payable by the renter, to cover any damage to the car during the rental and the days that the car may be out of service. (the insurance excess means if you have an accident your responsibility is up to the mentioned amount).
NO DEPOSIT NO CREDIT CARD NEEDED.
Insurances do NOT cover in any case: Accidents by a non-authorized driver. Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and on the wrong side of the road. Driving on Non-Asphalt roads. Damage to the undercarriage, loss, locking, or damage to the key, to the interior of the car, (for extreme dirtiness in the car 50 euro fee applies),and personal belongings.
Car insurance covers Kefalonia & Ithaki island only.
